Comment: Powell Township. Photo shows the Huron Mountain Club where the post office was once located on the east wing ground floor of this wing. Established on September 16, 1914 as a full-time post office with Herbert E. Perkins as its first postmaster. Changed to a summer only post office on December 1, 1927. Changed to a Contract Rural Station of Big Bay on June 1, 1957. Changed to a Contract Rural Branch of Big Bay on February 10, 1966. Discontinued operation on May 1, 1968 along with zip code 49808; mail service to Big Bay, MI. Contributed by Paul E. Petosky.
