Comments: Established on October 1, 1804 with Blaise Cenas as its first postmaster. The Post Office facing Lafayette Square occupying the entire square of ground, consisted of the United States District Court, U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, Weather Bureau, Secret Service, District Attorney and the other departments of Government service. This building was constructed in 1909 and completed in 1915. Architects for this project were Hale & Rogers. In 1961 the post office moved out of this building to its new location. In 1994 this building was officially renamed the "John Minor Wisdom U.S. Court of Appeals Building" by an Act of Congress. It is located at 600 Camp Street in New Orleans.
